The Spanish Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Tourism recently published the resolution of the call for aid to the Innovative Business Groups AEI2022 Next Generation, within the Recovery, Transformation, and Resilience Plan.

333Corporate has received approval for its PIGPEF project, with a budget of €114,854, which will receive a grant of €87,147 from the Ministry of Industry.

PIGPEF: Smart calculation of the environmental footprint in the pork value chain

There is increasing pressure on companies, especially in the swine industry, to demonstrate that their production practices are environmentally friendly. The Product and Organizational Environmental Footprint (PEF/OEF) calculation methodology (EU, 2013), which among other indicators includes the Carbon Footprint, provides a general framework for measuring the environmental performance of a product throughout its lifetime.

The objective of the PIGPEF project is to develop an online tool that allows companies in the swine industry, including feed mills, farms, slaughterhouses, and cutting plants, to calculate the environmental footprint of their products in order to help achieve the sustainability objectives of the companies in the industry.

PIGPEF is a project in which the two existing AEI clusters in the country also participate, whose activity is focused on improving the competitiveness of Spanish companies working in the context of pork production and processing: INNOVACC and I+PORC, of which 333Corporate is a partner, as well as the CentroTecnológico BETA, of the University of Vic and the GSP Lleida.
