Carmen Cía Rodas graduated in veterinary medicine from the Universitat Autónoma de Barcelona (UAB). She then completed a Master of Animal Nutrition at the University of Aberdeen, Scotland.
After completing her studies in Scotland, she began her career in the field of swine genetics, initially within the production department of PIC Scotland to continue within PIC Europe. During this stage she was involved with different departments, performing very diverse tasks such as selection of breeding stock, quarantine management of medicated early weaning piglets, logistic planning, exports, health and safety at work as well as others. She moved to Health Assurance Department - PIC Europe- with emphasis on biosecurity and food safety. During this 4 year period, she had the opportunity to develop her work from UK and France.
From 1999 to 2015 she joined PIC Spain as part of the veterinary team. Afterwards she took on additional roles in other areas such as technical and production department, stud management as well as commercial support and Key Account Management. This professional career has allowed her to closely interact with different areas of the industry.
