Once pigs are weaned, it is time to clean and disinfect every surface of the farrowing room. How can we speed up this process on farms that use creep feeders? Something as simple as installing a mount to hang the feeder on the side of the gate while working can save you from losing or breaking piglet feeders when it is time to clean the room.
With this set-up, each piglet feeder is placed on the mount that has been installed in each farrowing pen. Hanging the feeder vertically offers the advantage of making it much easier to clean and dry.
If the feeder is already fitted with hardware to secure it to the ground, just make sure the mount is the same size and you won't have to do anything extra to the feeder.
It's that easy.
