Alexandra Henao-Diaz
Iowa State College of Veterinary Medicine - United States AuthorDr. Alexandra Henao-Diaz is PhD candidate and research assistant (Department of Veterinary Diagnostic and Production Animal Medicine, College of Veterinary Medicine, Iowa State University, Ames, Iowa USA). She is a Doctor in Veterinary Medicine (ITSON, México), Master in Science of Veterinary Preventive Medicine (ISU, USA), and currently working towards her Ph.D. in Population Sciences in Animal Health in collaboration with Drs. Jeffrey Zimmerman and Luis Giménez-Lirola. Her research experience in swine infectious diseases includes PoCoV, PRV, FMDV, MHP, and PRRSV. Specifically, her MS and Ph.D. research was focused on the development and validation of serum-alternatives diagnostic specimens, i.e., oral fluids and feces, for effective field surveillance of PRRSV. Dr. Henao-Diaz has authored/co-authored eight refereed publications and more than 45 abstracts/proceedings presented at national and international conferences.
