Alfonso Bolarín
AcuFast - Canada AuthorAlfonso Bolarin is a Diplomate in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Murcia (Spain), where he earned a Doctorate at the Department of Medicine and Animal Surgery (Reproduction and Obstetric area) with the title “Strategies to improve pregnancy rate and total piglets born of cryopreserved domestic boar semen by using deep intrauterine insemination” in 2012, co-directed by Dr. Jordi Roca and Dr. Emilio A. Martinez.
From 2005 to 2022 he worked in AIM Iberica, the boar semen division of Topigs Norsvin Spain, where he was a Quality, Research and Development Manager, and Senior Researcher at the International Reproduction Platform of Topigs Norsvin. From 2020 to 2022 he was a Senior Doctorate Researcher at the Department of Animal Pathology, area of Medicine and Animal Surgery, Reproduction specialty, at the University of Zaragoza (Spain), associated with the project “Biomarkers of boar sperm potential fertility”.
Since 2022 he has been Senior Manager of Reproductive R&D in AcuFast, Saskatoon (Canada), aiming the implementation of sex-sorted semen in the swine industry as a routine.
Alfonso Bolarin is co-author of more than 20 published peer-reviewed papers and actively participates in specialized journals, congresses, and meetings gathering the swine production and private and public research.
