Carlos Neila-Ibáñez

Carlos Neila Ibáñez has a doctorate in Animal Health from the Autonomous University of Barcelona. Graduated in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Extremadura, he carried out his doctoral thesis at IRTA-CReSA (Institut de Recerca i Tecnologia Agroalimentàries - Centre de Recerca en Sanitat Animal) within the framework of the European project Horizon 2020 PIGSs (Program for Innovative Global Prevention of Streptococcus suis). His contribution in the project focused on studying the epidemiology of S. suis, especially on the effect of different risk factors associated with this pathogen, as well as on the development of animal models to test the efficacy of new prevention methods for the disease caused by S. suis.
