Chiara Luongo
University of Murcia - Italy AuthorAfter graduating with a degree in Biology at the University of Naples, Federico II (2013), I got my master's in Reproductive Biology and Cell Differentiation at the same university (2016). In 2017, I did a stay (2 months) at the Department of Physiology (University of Murcia), where I worked with male gametes from different species (pig, dolphin), evaluating the basic parameters of their functionality: morphology, viability, motility by computerized systems, and acrosomal state.
Since then, I have maintained a professional relationship with this department and have participated in the development of 9 scientific papers (all of them related to reproductive physiology), in 4 of which I am the first author and in one the second author. All of them have been published in journals indexed in JCR, within the first quartile of their category. In addition, I have participated in the writing and publication of a book chapter on the progress in reproductive biotechnologies in swine. During this time I have attended scientific congresses on reproduction (international and national) presenting part of the results of the aforementioned work. I have also collaborated in directing the master's thesis in "Biology and Technology of Reproduction in Mammals" as a co-supervisor, together with Dr. Francisco Alberto García-Vázquez. In 2019, I did a stay (3 months) at Anhui Medical University (Hefei, China), which was funded by the University of Murcia and in which I was trained in human reproduction techniques (spermiograms and in vitro fertilization).
Currently, I am enrolled in the PhD program "Biology and Technology of Reproductive Health" at the University of Murcia where I am part of the Reproductive Physiology research group.
