
Edgar García Manzanilla
TEAGASC - Ireland AuthorEdgar Garcia Manzanilla, DVM, PhD, MPVM, Dipl. ECPHM, completed his degree in Veterinary Medicine and PhD in 2000 and 2005 at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB). In 2006, he moved to the Department of Animal Science of the University of California - Davis (USA) as a researcher where he also obtained a Master in Preventive Veterinary Medicine (MPVM). He went back to UAB in 2009 where he was involved in different projects managing and analysing data from commercial farms. In 2010 he became a Diplomate of the European College of Porcine Health and Management (ECPHM). He moved to Ireland in 2014 as a researcher in the Pig Development Department of Teagasc. He is author of 125+ peer-reviewed papers on nutrition, epidemiology, antimicrobial resistance and disease control; he has participated in several EU-EIP focus groups and he is a researcher in national and international projects on animal health and welfare.
