Emilio Magallón Botaya
Economics and swine production specialist - Spain AuthorEmilio Magallón Botaya graduated from the University of Zaragoza with a degree in Veterinary Medicine and specialized in Animal Production and Agricultural Economics.
After starting his professional career as a rural veterinarian, he worked in the pig sector in the Nutreco Group for over 40 years.
He has been an associate professor of Pig Production in the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Zaragoza for over 15 years and is a professor of Economic Analysis in the MSc in Animal Production and Health at the universities of Zaragoza, Lleida and the Complutense University of Madrid.
He has participated in several research projects related to the pig industry on improving Iberian pig genetics.
He has published several books and many articles on the Spanish pig industry and has participated in several conferences and round tables all around Spain.
He currently advises several companies in the industry in Strategic Planning and Economics.
