Juan Manuel Ortiz Sanjuan
Teagasc Moorepark - Ireland AuthorJuan Manuel Ortiz Sanjuan is a PhD student at the Pig Development Department of Teagasc Moorepark (Ireland) and University of Córdoba (Spain), since November 2018 under the Walsh Scholar fellowship programme. His thesis studies the effects of ZnO in weaned pigs microbiome in commercial conditions, to help develop alternatives and further developing strategies to stop the use of ZnO in farm. Juan Manuel graduated in Veterinary Medicine (2018, University of Córdoba, Spain) and obtained a Master’s Degree on Biotechnology (2019), where he did an internship and he was trained on the study of immune response by using several techniques of molecular biology under the supervision of Dr Juan José Garrido Pavón. His thesis supervisors are Dr. Juan José Garrido Pavón, Dr. Edgar García Manzanilla and Dr. Héctor Argüello Rodríguez.
