Iowa State University - United States AuthorDr. Kate Dion is a Post-doctoral Research Associate in the Department of Veterinary Diagnostics and Production Animal Medicine (VDPAM) in the College of Veterinary Medicine at Iowa State University (Ames, Iowa, USA). She received her DVM and B.S. in Animal Science from Iowa State University and is currently pursuing a PhD in Population Sciences in Animal Health. Prior to joining Iowa State University, she spent 11 years at the HANOR Company serving as a Veterinarian and Animal Well-Being/Quality Assurance Manager. Her research focuses on biosecurity, disease risk assessment, and applied field epidemiology to improve swine health focusing on porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus (PRRSV) and porcine enteric coronaviruses.
