Margit Andreasen
Danish Agriculture & Food Council - Denmark AuthorMargit obtained her Veterinary degree at The Royal Veterinary and Agricultural University, Copenhagen in 1989. In 1999, she obtained her Ph.D. degree. Her thesis had it’s main focus on respiratory diseases, Epidemiology and Immunology in swine. From 1999 to 2001 she was employed at the Danish Veterinary Laboratory, as the project manager on a project analysing the effect of the discontinued use of growth promoters in the Danish swine production.
From 2001 to 2002 she worked at the biotechnological firm, Genmab A/S, as a preclinical scientist, where she was responsible for the design and conduct of pre-clinical studies. From 2002 to 2008 she was employed as the Technical Manager in Orion Pharma Animal Health, Denmark.
Currently, Margit is Chief scientist at the Pig Research Centre, Danish Agriculture & Food Council. Among other, she is responsible for the conduct of larger clinical trials and research within antibiotic use and resistance. Her publications and presentations are mainly related to the swine production with emphasis on respiratory diseases, immunology, epidemiology, antimicrobial consumption and resistance.
