Mathieu Andraud, PhD was born in Clermont-Ferrand in 1980. With a Master degree in applied mathemamics from the University Blaise Pascal in Clermont-Ferrand, he started a PhD program in 2005 in the Epidemiology Unit of Anses (Ploufragan Laboratory) and was graduated in 2008. After two post-doctoral positions in the Pharmacology unit of Anses (Fougères laboratory) and the Center for Health Economics Research and Modeling of Infectious Diseases (CHERMID) at the University of Antwerp, he is currently working in the Swine Epidemiology and Welfare research unit (Anses) as infectious diseases modeler.

Modelling PCV2 course of infection in a farrow-to-finish farm

Reducing piglets mingling in farrowing and nursery facilities was found to delay the infectious process leading to a lower number of early infections. Clustering piglets by litter in small units after weaning also decreased significantly the probability of early infection.
