Pablo Alarcón
Royal Veterinary College - United Kingdom AuthorDr. Alarcon graduated from the University of Veterinary Medicine in Cordoba, Spain, in 2006. He then completed an MSc in veterinary epidemiology at the Royal Veterinary College (RVC) of London, United Kingdom. In 2008-2013 he was employed at the Veterinary Epidemiology, Economics and Public Health Group of the RVC, where he obtained his PhD in 2013. Currently, he is a post-doctoral research fellow in food system at the same institution and a visiting scientist at the International Livestock Research Institute in Nairobi, Kenya. His primary areas of interest are epidemiology and economics of livestock diseases, and the decision-making process for disease control. Current research focused on the interaction between livestock value chains and the risk of zoonosis and food safety.
