Patricia Prieto Martínez graduated in Veterinary Medicine/Science from the University of Saragossa in 2006, specialising in Animal Production and Agricultural Economics.

The completed his training with stages in different areas of production at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine/Science of Lisbon and of Costa Rica, and in 2007 she studied the MSc in Animal Production and Health organised by the Universities of Saragossa, Barcelona and Lerida.

Patricia Prieto started her professional activity in 2008 in the Veterinary Technical Service of one of the most important companies in the pig sector, where she manages several piglet production and fattening farms.

She has participated in several congresses and training conferences in pig production, and has collaborated in several books related to this sector.

At the farrowing quarters, the piglet eats almost once every hour, and it always eats while the rest of the litter is also eating.  At weaning, it is very important to provide additional feeders that allow the piglet to maintain that feeding pattern as a group. Additionally, creep feeders with water and feed facilitate learning.
