Vall Companys Group - Spain AuthorBorn in Igualada (Barcelona), Spain. He completed his studies in agricultural engineering in 2015 at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia, beginning his work in swine research at the Animal Nutrition and Welfare Service of the Autonomous University of Barcelona (SNIBA-UAB). He then continued his studies with a Master in Animal Science at Wageningen University & Research (WUR), specializing in Animal Nutrition and Animal Production Systems. He culminated his stay at WUR in 2015 with a dissertation focused on modeling the effect of beta-glucans on transit speed and digestibility in finishing pigs. That same year he started as an industrial PhD student in a project involving the Vall Companys group and SNIBA-UAB. During the 3-year period he worked on determining nutritional requirements in finishing pigs with a thesis entitled "Semi-precision feeding of non-castrated finishing pigs". One of his PhD thesis papers was the winner of the XXIX FEDNA Award for young researchers in November 2019. In addition, he finished his PhD with a stay at the Swine Nutrition Group at Kansas State University. In November 2020 he defended his thesis and since then he continues to develop his work as a nutritionist and researcher in the Vall Companys group.
