Roberto Barea
Novus - Spain AuthorRoberto Barea, DVM, is, since February 2015, the Technical Service Manager at Novus Europe for Southeast Europe and a pig production specialist for Europe. Dr. Barea graduated in Veterinary Medicine/Science in 1999 from the University of Cordoba (Spain). He defended his PhD thesis in pig nutrition in 2005 at the Animal Nutrition Institute, EEZ-CSIC (Granada, Spain). After completing his doctorate, Dr Barea enjoyed a 2-year postdoc grant at the INRA (Saint-Gilles, France), where he was able to delve on the study of the branched-chain amino acid requirements in weaned piglets. During this research period he enjoyed a series of stays in different research centres and universities abroad, such as the University of Copenhaguen (Denmark) and the University of Milan (Italy). In 2011, Dr. Barea moved to Milan (Italy), and since then he works in the industry of feed additives, his main task being coordinating and integrating his technical responsibilities to the sales and marketing departments. Due to his interest for scientific disclosure, Dr. Barea is the author or co-author of more than 30 articles, 13 of which have been published in impact journals.
