Innovation Swine Manager. Innovation Division – Animal Science Unit. LUCTA SA. - Spain AuthorHe was born in 1979 in Barcelona, Spain. In 2012 he earned his Master's in Animal Science from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB).
He has collaborated on research projects on animal production (poultry and pigs, mainly) as a part of the UAB's Nutrition and Animal Welfare Service (SNiBA).
Subsequently, he worked in the framework of a project with the aim of studying the main factors affecting liveweight variability throughout the pig's life cycle. This project was carried out in commercial farms and culminated in his Ph.D. thesis 'Study and management of liveweight variability throughout the pig cycle under commercial conditions', presented and defended at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the UAB in 2018.
After his Ph.D., he worked as a post-doc in the 'SmartFarm' project in the framework of the RIS3CAT Communities in which he evaluated the application of technology in livestock farms to technify production processes while generating data to help in decision making in pig and poultry farms.
Since 2021 he is part of LUCTA as head of swine in the innovation division.
