City University of Hong Kong - South Korea AuthorDr KIM graduated from Seoul National University, South Korea, in 2010 with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree (DVM).
After completing his military service in the Korean navy as a Veterinary Officer, he went to the UK to complete a Master’s degree in Veterinary Epidemiology in 2015, jointly run by the Royal Veterinary College and the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. He graduated first in the programme and was awarded the Dogs Trust’s prize for his Master’s thesis (“Epidemiological study of feline idiopathic cystitis in Seoul, South Korea”). His PhD topic is about the relationship between microbial communities of humans and companion animals in the same household. In addition to his PhD, he is also collaborating on projects studying avian influenza in Bangladesh (BALZAC project) and Rift Valley fever in Mayotte.
