08-Dec-2021adrian-balabanGood afternoon Professor Pejsak,
In my unfortunate experience with ASF, and i tried both living in an area were a commercial farms were surrounded by ASF outbrecks in backyards or in wild boars , or partial depop of an infected farm , both variants are impossbbile on the long term... you can manage for a short period with extremly high cost and risk , but , in the end it will jump ...
I dont think that we can live with ASF in any circumstances , All our efforts have to be to eradicate as soon as possible this disease both from the wild boars or domestic pigs population. Living with ASF is a nightmare for the farmers , for the vetrerianrians and for the authorities . Also the economic impact of living with thge disease is much higher on the long term than an efficient eradication program.
