IRTA Animal Production Conference

For European livestock farming, there are ambitious sustainability goals to be met in the near future, such as attaining a carbon-neutral Europe by 2050; halving the use of antibiotics and reducing nutrient losses by at least 50%; and, by 2030, restoring ecosystems and biodiversity, with 25% of farmland devoted to organic farming and European aquaculture production established as a world leader in sustainability and quality. 

This meeting is a reflection of IRTA’s commitment to tackling new challenges and making the transition to greater sustainability in livestock farming and aquaculture, to a One Health approach and to the application of new technologies to meet consumers’ demands, satisfy their needs and protect their interests.
