Andrimner, in its desire to work with the latest technology and the maximum biosecurity standards, has collaborated with its technical support, represented by Mr Javier Lorente, in an embryo transfer project together with the Department of Reproduction of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine/Science of the University of Murcia. The embryo transfer has been carried out on DNA Genetics' L600 (Duroc) and L200 (LW) genetic lines, Andrimner being their exclusive distributor throughout Europe.

In this first stage, work has been carried out regarding essentially two items:

  1. The synchronisation, stimulation, heat detection and insemination of the sows: 22 sows were inseminated, 20 of them becoming pregnant.
  2. The surgical collection of embryos and their vitrification: embryos could be obtained from 18 of the 20 of the pregnant sows, and 300 were vitrified.

These embryos will be used in the near future so DNA's genetic lines can be taken, in the safest way from the hygiene viewpoint currently available, to any part of the world and any interested customer.
