This acquisition marks a significant step forward in the structuring of French swine genetics and in the development strategy of the Axiom Group.

The objectives of this acquisition are clear:

To enable breeders, and the pork industry as a whole, to benefit from excellence in genetic progress: Thanks to the historical expertise and complementary activities of the 2 companies, numerous synergies will be deployed in R&D, selection, production, logistics and sales. These synergies will bring new products to breeders and the industry as a whole. They will also generate greater profitability, enabling the companies to step up investment in tools, technologies, research and breeding lines. This strategy of consolidation will be underpinned by the broad skills present in the combined entities.

Confirm a leading position in the French market:

With decades of experience working closely with French players in the pork industry, Axiom has been able to support its customers by constantly innovating to offer products tailored to their needs. Since 2016, this work has enabled Axiom to become the French leader in swine genetics in terms of size and market share. This transaction will undoubtedly strengthen this position as the French No. 1. The Axiom Group is all the more solid in that its shareholder base is made up of France's largest multiactivity, specialised cooperatives with international reach, which together account for almost 50% of the country's pork production. This acquisition will also make it possible to continue and extend genetic collaborations with the various cooperatives holding minority stakes in Choice Genetics companies.

Become a major player on the international stage:

Thanks to this operation, the new Group has considerably strengthened its international footprint, with 4 subsidiaries in Brazil, China, Spain and Poland. In addition to a large network of international distributors, these subsidiaries will play an important role in the continued development of genetics on the various continents. With this acquisition, the Axiom Group joins the world's Top 5 players in the field. Through its Polish subsidiary, the Group is also acquiring an Artificial Insemination Centre, thereby diversifying Axiom's business activities. This diversification reinforces the Group's existing ambition to invest in all the resources needed to spread genetic progress.

Statement by Frédéric GRIMAUD, Chairman of Choice Genetics:

"We are delighted that this transfer has been completed as announced before the summer. It will enable us to consolidate a French leader on the global pig genetics scene. We have no doubt that Choice is in good hands and that the synergies developed with Axiom will accelerate the new group's R&D programs and global footprint.”

Statement by Arnaud DEGOULET, Chairman of the Axiom Group:

"This acquisition demonstrates the importance that our shareholder cooperatives attach to the genetics sector. Axiom is now a major player in pig genetics worldwide, serving production, market expectations and, more generally, the competitiveness of the pig industry.”

Statement by Guillaume NAVEAU, CEO of the Axiom Group:

"With this growth, the Axiom Group is continuing its dynamic development with a clear strategy: to work with the world's swine industries to produce the breeding animals of tomorrow. With Choice's activities, Axiom is considerably strengthening its national and international footprint and is adding new employees who will be helping to build the new Axiom Group. I wish them a warm welcome!”
