Biogénesis Bagó, the leading global biotech company in the animal health, productivity and welfare sector, has opened a vaccine production plant in Campo Largo, Brazil, which will require a US$30 million investment and will position the company as the largest producer of veterinary vaccines in Latin America.

The new plant will have an annual production capacity of over 10 million doses of live attenuated virus vaccines and will create 300 direct and indirect jobs in Brazil. It will produce vaccines for pets and farm animals, as well as other biotech solutions. Initially, the plant will focus on producing three types of vaccines for pets: the 3-in-1, 5-in-1/6-in1 vaccines for cats. To achieve that, it will have state-of-the-art technological equipment set in a 4,000 square meters site with the highest quality standards. The facility will also become an R&D hub and a logistics center for the whole of Latin America.

"This investment will enable us to broaden our production capacity and strengthen our product portfolio for pets and livestock. This will allow us to reach new markets with world-class, highly technical solutions”, stated Sebastián Perretta, Business Executive Director.

This initiative, together with its solid experience in Argentina and the rest of LATAM, positions Biogénesis Bagó as the fifth company in the world and the first in the region in terms of production capacity for pets. Currently, 30% of this market in the region is linked to vaccine production, with an approximate demand of 40 million doses a year. By 2026, given Campo Largo’s production capacity, Biogénesis Bagó will be able to supply more than 20% of this segment.

The company currently has production plants in Argentina and China and will strengthen its industrial capacity by constantly expanding and specializing its production with the progress of projects to build plants in Saudi Arabia and South Korea, to ensure the supply of animal health solutions in the most important regions of the world.
