BiominPhuong Nguyen Quang, COO of BIOMIN Vietnam says, "Vietnam is an important market for us, and with the addition of the new facility, we will achieve a five-fold increase in total capacity. This also allows us to export to other countries in the region, including Cambodia and Myanmar."

With strong growth in the demand for premixes and the existing BIOMIN facility in Hanoi running at full capacity, BIOMIN commenced the construction of the facility in the Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Park (VSIP) in Tan Uyen District on 12 May 2012.

Fully-equipped with a micro dosing system and a laboratory with cutting-edge equipment, including a liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) system, this extensive investment confirms the strong emphasis that BIOMIN places on providing quality solutions and excellent customer service. The LC-MS/MS system is able to identify over 300 mycotoxins, as well as pesticides and antibiotic residues in raw material.

“This will enable BIOMIN to provide the highest possible level of nutritional and mycotoxin analytical services for its customers. On top of that, the LC-MS/MS will also be used to support the BIOMIN Mycotoxin Survey Program, strengthening the position of BIOMIN as the market leader in this field," says Jan Vanbrabant, CEO Asia Pacific, BIOMIN.

Nguyen Dang Vang, chairman of the Vietnam Livestock Association, expressed in his address that the opening of a second facility in Vietnam points to the success of BIOMIN. Chairman Nguyen had also graced the opening of the first BIOMIN premix facility in Hanoi, northern Vietnam, in 1996.

Since its inception in 1997 in the Asia Pacific region, the business of BIOMIN has been growing exponentially, especially in the Vietnamese market. With the new facility, BIOMIN is now the only premix producer in Vietnam with facilities in both the north and south, poised to serve markets in both regions. Currently, BIOMIN is one of the top three premix producers in Vietnam.

At the World Nutrition Forum held in 2012 in Singapore, BIOMIN promoted the concept of NutriEconomics® - achieving sustainable yet profitable farming through optimized animal nutrition. For instance, walls of the new facility are built of autoclaved aerated concrete blocks to conserve energy, and solar panels are also fitted to produce energy for the plant. In addition, with the ISO 14040 environmental management certification, BIOMIN is committed to manage its carbon footprint not only by increasing efficiency in animal production, but also in the production process at the facility by using resources more efficiently, says Andreas Kern, CEO of BIOMIN Holding GmbH. Tran Thanh Liem, Vice-Chairman of Binh Duong People's Committee welcomed the company's efforts in sustainability and referred to the facility as 'friendly to the environment'.

The ceremony was also graced by Thomas Loidl, Ambassador of Austria to Vietnam, along with over 250 VIPs, customers and government officials. In his address, founder of BIOMIN, Erich Erber, expressed his appreciation toward the contribution of BIOMIN customers and partners, saying "No company can be successful without successful customers and successful partners".

2013 marks the 30th anniversary of BIOMIN, since Erich Erber founded the company in 1983. As a leading company in the global animal health and nutrition industry, BIOMIN is committed to the continuous development of its business. A new facility is also being developed in Wuxi, China, as part of the expansion plans of BIOMIN.
