Following a series of highly successful forums in Mandalay and Yangon, BIOMIN continues its efforts on knowledge transfer in Myanmar with a technical seminar held in Taungoo. The seminar, themed “BIOMIN Nutritional Solutions to support the Myanmar Livestock Industry” took place at the beautiful Royal Kaytumadi Hotel on 26th September. It highlighted specific nutritional solutions for improving livestock production in the country.
Mr. Min Ye Tin, Managing Director of Myanmar Frontline Co. Ltd., gave a warm welcome to the participants in his opening speech. Then Dr. Myo Thant, Technical Executive with Myanmar Frontline Co. Ltd., presented an introduction to the half-day agenda.
Mr. Edward Manchester, Regional Director with BIOMIN Asia, introduced BIOMIN, outlining the areas of competence of the company. He also highlighted the extensive research and development activities as well as the in-house expertise on latest production technology within BIOMIN. With a strong global presence to boost, BIOMIN is able to benefit the Myanmar livestock industry through the sharing of technical knowledge at the local level, which is a significant factor in supporting the development of the local livestock industry.
Lunch reception for seminar participantsThe agenda then moved on to specific presentations focusing on nutritional solutions for the Myanmar customers, principally intestinal health management through the combination of probiotic and prebiotic applications, microbial control with organic acid blends and finally to mycotoxin risk management strategies. Dr. Lynn Htike, Technical Sales Executive with Myanmar Frontline Co. Ltd., provided local translation during the seminar.
Emphasizing BIOMIN’s commitment to Myanmar, Mr. Edward Manchester announced the imminent establishment of a local business entity, BIOMIN Myanmar. “We consider Myanmar as having a very strong future growth potential in the agricultural livestock sector. Establishing our presence early in this development process and really supporting the customers to bring technology and knowledge to the market will serve to establish our credibility as a reliable long-term partner to the Myanmar livestock industry,” explained Mr. Manchester.
