The Canadian Swine Health Board (CSHB) will be holding its fourth annual Canadian Swine Health Forum at The Fairmont Winnipeg, in Winnipeg, Manitoba on October 17th & 18th, 2012. The Forum is a unique Canadian conference, where grass root producers, private practitioners, academia, government and other Canadian swine industry leaders gather to meet with one focus - swine health. This year’s Forum is shaping up to be the best yet.
The cutoff for early registration is tomorrow, September 14 th, at the reduced rate of $225. Forum registrations made on September 15th and later will be at the increased rate of $275. An optional evening program has also been organized for Forum delegates. For more information, an outline of the program and to register, please visit our website at www.swinehealth.ca.
An additional feature at this year’s Forum will be an influenza vaccination clinic. The CSHB is again encouraging pork producers and their farm workers to get their seasonal flu vaccination, in order to protect the health of both pigs and people. One of the most common reasons given for not getting a flu shot is finding the time in today’s very busy schedules. This Forum clinic provides a perfect opportunity to receive the annual flu vaccine in a timely manner.
Accommodations information is also available directly on the CSHB website, with a reduced rate for bookings made before September 17th.
The CSHB was formed to proactively address swine health challenges through leadership, coordination and support in the management of the health of the Canadian swine herd. Its members include the Canadian Association of Swine Veterinarians, the Canadian Association of Veterinary Colleges, the Canadian Centre for Swine Improvement, the Canadian Meat Council and the Canadian Pork Council. CSHB funding has been provided by Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, as part of the Initiative for the Control of Diseases in the Hog Industry.
