Dr. Ajay Awati enters EW Nutrition product management team

EW NutritionEW Nutrition as leading provider of innovative feed solutions recently announced that from 1st of February, Dr. Ajay Awati joined the company’s product management team as Global Category Manager Enzymes.

“I’m excited that Ajay is part of our product management team” said Dr. Heinrich Kleine Klausing, Managing Director at EW Nutrition. “His extensive background in animal nutrition and product development is an asset and is a perfect fit for our emphasis to develop products that allow the reduction of antibiotics without losing the economic focus.”

Dr. Awati finished his Bachelor´s program in Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry at the KNP College of Veterinary Science, now part of Maharashtra Animal and Fishery Sciences University, India. He continued his masters education under International Master’s program in Animal Science at the University of Wageningen with major focus on nutritional immunology. He managed to complete two master theses: The first one on nutrition and immunology in broilers and the second one on in-vitro digestion model development for cats.

After his graduation he worked on an EU-project called “Healthy Pig Gut” at the University of Wageningen in which at least ten universities and research institutes across Europe were involved to develop strategies to replace in-feed antibiotics. The focus of his PhD thesis was to generate strategies to use fermentable carbohydrates as prebiotics in weaning piglet nutrition.

In his professional career he worked several years for a leading companies in animal nutrition and animal production industry and gathered profound scientific and practical experiences in the development and application of feed additives in animal nutrition.

“He will be a great addition to the team and together we’ll continue to enter the global feed enzyme business”, Dr. Heinrich Kleine Klausing concluded.
