Today, the Avril executive team traveled to its newly acquired sites in Amiens (80) and Saint-Beauzire (63), announcing to their 315 staff the creation of a new company, EUROLYSINE, that will unify the activities taken over from the Metex group. In alignment with its values – respect, boldness and performance – Avril has sought to capitalize on the company's heritage, pledging to continue writing, alongside all the employees and stakeholders involved, a new chapter in this story dating back to 1974.

A new name, chosen to revive the activity's international reputation and leadership in the fermented amino acids market.

Following the Commercial Court's decision to accept Avril's bid, in association with the SPI fund managed by Bpifrance on behalf of the French State, the company created for the takeover, which will be jointly held by Avril (55%) and the SPI fund (45%) has been named EUROLYSINE.

This name harks back to the company's industrial and commercial past, evoking a brand whose expertise and quality is renowned among customers. It also expresses the ambition of the project put forward by Avril, in association with Bpifrance: restructuring the business in order to guarantee its long-term future, and thereby boosting the sovereignty of the French and European animal nutrition sector and providing it with new development prospects.

Custom-designed governance for a successful turnaround

Eurolysine SAS is currently managed by Rudolph Hidalgo, reporting to a Strategic Committee presided over by Avril CEO Jean-Philippe Puig, and made up of representatives of the two stockholders and independent administrators.

Rudolph Hidalgo has been in charge of the restructuring of the Metex group's activities since November 2023, and his continued involvement will guarantee a smooth transition.

From 15 September he will be replaced by Eddy Feijen, who is currently the Managing Director at Oleon, an Avril business unit. Mr. Feijen's international experience, managerial qualities and accomplished expertise in industrial sectors and markets have left the partners in no doubt as to his ability to succeed in this challenge.
