The debut edition of EuroTier China has drawn to a successful conclusion after welcoming more than 22,000 visitors to the Qingdao International Convention & Exhibition Centre, in the Shandong province of the People’s Republic of China, from the 19th to the 21st September. Organised by National Animal Husbandry Services (NAHS) China, the German Agricultural Society (DLG), and Beijing Tec, EuroTier China 2019 lived up to the EuroTier brand promise by providing the region with an international platform for global brands, international industry leaders, leading experts and local farmers to come together under one roof and share not only the latest technological innovations but also to discuss and deliberate on some of the most critical challenges currently facing the livestock sector.

NAHS, Director General, Mr. Wang Zongli, said, “This is a truly international livestock exhibition not only in terms of participation of the various stakeholders but also in the high organizational standards. EuroTier China provides a great platform for knowledge transfer and communication during the most dynamic period of the livestock industry not only in China but also in the rest of the world. NAHS is very happy to continuously support this platform, and we welcome more international livestock players to China for future editions.”

EuroTier China 2019 hosted 300 exhibitors covering a wide variety of thematic areas showcasing technology and innovation in the capacities of breeding, genetics, feed and additives, animal housing, feeding techniques, controlled environment technology and lots more. The exhibitors came from 12 countries including Germany, Switzerland, Sweden, Netherlands, France, Austria, Malaysia, Belgium, Canada and the United States of America.

SANO China Director Mr. Ma Zhiqian said, “I am very impressed with EuroTier China made by the German Agricultural Society (DLG). It has soundly connected with Chinese livestock network and industry through this platform. The expansion of the EuroTier brand to China has been a success and is a classic win-win situation for us.”

With a population of 1.4 billion, China has one of the world’s largest economies. About eight percent of its GDP comes from agriculture, which also employs about 28 per cent of the workforce, and the country is a world leader in the production of rice, wheat, potatoes, corn, tobacco, peanuts, tea, apples, cotton, pork, mutton, eggs, fish and shrimp. Despite the vast quantities of local production, China is also the world’s largest importer of soybeans, pork and many other food products to meet local demand, and this a major driver towards improving the country’s agricultural sector.

EuroTier China 2019 held 5 days of engaging technical conferences from the 16th to 21st of September. The technical program, including the conferences and the presentations at the DLG forum, provided visitors not only with a platform to gain valuable know-how on sector specific themes to improve their own farming practices but also the latest happenings in the market and what to expect and how to prepare for the future. The technical conferences covered topics including Feed and Animal Nutrition, Dairy, Livestock and Poultry Breeding, Swine Production Animal Health and Food Safety. The DLG Forum, along with the conferences, hosted experts from all over the world who delivered presentations on their subject matter tailored to the market and the challenges facing it at the moment, such as bio-security and ASF and international trade agreements.

The second edition of EuroTier China has been confirmed for 7-9 September 2020 at the Chengdu Century City New International Exhibition & Convention Centre in the southwestern Chinese province of Sichuan. The organizers have already started registering exhibitors for EuroTier China 2020 as well as offering exciting early bird rates.
