Pig FocusThe importance being placed on food safety and quality is increasing all the time, as is the cost of getting it wrong. The focus on food safety started in Europe with problems such as salmonella in eggs and mad cow disease (BSE). It then became a topical issue in the USA and its importance is now increasing in Asia. Accordingly, VNU Exhibitions Asia Pacific and the British publisher of International Meat Topics and International Food Hygiene felt the time was right to launch a meat and food conference that focused on product safety and quality to run alongside their established and highly acclaimed Pig, Poultry & Dairy Focus Asia.

The first Meat & Food Safety Focus Asia will be held in Bangkok, Thailand on 5th March 2014 at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center.

With topics as diverse as minerals and meat quality, laboratory accuracy, authentication of meat products, fat analysis, rapid microbial testing, risk, improving food safety and mycotoxin testing, this is a must-attend conference for anyone involved in, or interested in, QA or QC in the meat and food sectors, be they in industry, government, academia or auditing. In addition, Sakchai Sriboonsue of the Thai National Bureau of Commodities will review the latest developments in food safety in Thailand.

All the speakers are experts in their own fields and come from countries in Asia, Europe and the Americas.

The full programme and booking forms can be seen at www.positiveaction.co.uk and further information on Meat & Food Safety Focus Asia 2014, which is co-hosted by International Meat Topics & International Food Hygiene and VNU Exhibitions Asia Pacific Co Ltd, is available from palmpositive@yahoo.com or warisara@vnuexhibitionsap.com . For companies sending groups of staff as part of their CPD, special Group Rates are available.
