According to FC’s CEO, Roger Koppen, “We chose the Coon Rapids location strategically for a couple of reasons. First - there has been, and continues to be, strong growth in swine production in the area. Secondly, this investment in milling assets better enables FC to reinforce its position as a long term player in Iowa’s feed industry. This mill bridges a distance gap between FC’s Sac City and Earlham feed mills and will better allow us to serve our customers’ needs while strengthening FC’s entire feed system.”
Farmer’s Cooperative Company is Iowa’s largest agricultural cooperative and serves nearly 6,000 member owners throughout a trade territory of over 1.4 million acres. FC is owned and operated by the farmers it serves and governed by a board of directors. The project is contingent upon the necessary approvals of these groups but is part of the cooperative effort to provide needed product and services to the members.
FC has more than 50 locations statewide and employs a team of nearly 500 employees. FC’s mission is to do for farmers what they cannot economically do for themselves through perational
excellence. For more information, please visit www.fccoop.com.
