VIVVIV Asia 2013 and Aquatic Asia 2013 Roadshow – start firstly in Yangon to boost cooperation on the production and technology regarding livestock and aquaculture industry.

Great opportunities have arrived at the right time. Due to the continuing-active role of the government of Myanmar on trade, economic and development policies, together with the upcoming of ASEAN community and ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) which will be fully operated in 2015, Thailand and Myanmar as located in the center of this emerging region need to grasp this chance and collectively strengthen their bilateral trade and investment actively.

Stronger bilateral trade ties and investment between Thailand and Myanmar have been taking place significantly in both volume and quality, especially the border trade. In 2010, the bilateral trade between Thailand and Myanmar recorded at USD 5.1 billion accounting for 12.96% increase. Thailand represented the second in Myanmar’s foreign investment line-up with USD 9.57 billion in 61 projects as of November 2011. Significantly, livestock and aquaculture industries are among the most important sectors of Thailand and Myanmar's bilateral trade and investment but it has not been continually focused on technology advancement and R&D. The VIV Asia 2013 and Aquatic Asia 2013 roadshow is therefore held as a knock-door event to promote more cooperation.

The roadshow here in Yangon is the initiative of N.C.C. Exhibition Organizer and VNU Exhibition Europe, the organizer of VIV Asia 2013 with the support of Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) under the ‘Better the Best’ campaign to promote business and investment within the Asian livestock industry. This roadshow is also part of the VIV Asia 2013 promotion campaign. As one of the 6 high-profile exhibitions under the ‘Better the Best’ campaign, VIV Asia has continually been organized every two years and unsurprisingly becomes on top as a leading exhibition with the number of 28,987 visitors in 2011 – 34% increase comparing to VIV Asia 2009.

VIV Asia 2013 will take place at BITEC, Bangkok, on 13-15 March 2013, under the theme of being the world’s most promising meeting point to boost business from Feed to Meet. It will be organized into three special features. First, FeedTech Asia 2013 will be dedicated for the Asia-Pacific feed milling industries. Second, a brand new theme at VIV Asia 2013, MeatTech Asia 2013 aims to present international suppliers technologies in slaughter and process of pig and poultry meat. Third, VIV Animal Health Summit Asia will be arranged as a special theme at the 2013-edition of VIV Asia only and will return at VIV Europe 2014. Conferences, innovations and award ceremony will be addressed in this three features.

In addition to VIV Asia 2013, Aquatic Asia 2013, which will be held during the same period and venue, is designed as a trade show for the Asia-Pacific Aquaculture business, focusing on the research & development, production and marketing of fish & shrimps.

Mrs. Supawan Teerarat Exhibitions Director, Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) revealed that, “Backed by the Royal Thai Government’s generous support and countless business opportunities in Thailand as platform for ASEAN markets, Thailand’s international exhibitions are effective platforms to explore the emerging opportunities in the region. VIV Asia 2013 has been selected as part of the “Better the Best” campaign, under our “Believe in Thailand” umbrella, for two consecutive years. We aim to raise the profile of Thailand’s champion trade shows in the global arena by providing special support to the key exhibitions in Thailand’s key industries, including VIV Asia 2013 for the livestock industry. VIV Asia 2013 is sure to be a big pool of growing opportunities to attract exhibitors and visitors from ASEAN to update new developments in the livestock industry in response to the rising of regional demand. Additionally, TCEB also designed the tailored-made visitor promotion; 100 A-Head; to entice visitors from ASEAN plus six and BIMSTEC countries and VIP Fast Track to fasten the immigration at the airport.”
