Andrew joins FDF following a long and distinguished civil service career based mainly in the Department of Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) and its predecessor MAFF where, among other roles, he held the position of Deputy Director of the Natural Environment Group. Andrew also has a wide range of experience in domestic and international policy on agricultural, trade and food industry issues, including postings in Brussels and Paris.
Andrew's remit is to build on, and take forward, the significant progress FDF has made in the key areas of sustainability and competitiveness.
FDF Director General Melanie Leech says:
"Sustainability continues to be a huge issue for the food industry. Andrew's wide experience within government will be hugely beneficial to his new role, and I am delighted to welcome him as part of the FDF senior team.”
Andrew Kuyk adds:
“I am very happy to be joining FDF at this extremely important and challenging time for sustainability and competitiveness in the industry. FDF has made great strides with its Five-fold Environmental Ambition, and I am delighted to have the opportunity to build on that progress and to drive the agenda forward.”
