Hypor B.V. announced today that recently acquired France-Hybrides has successfully shipped 315 GGP females and boars from their Sichamps and Châteauneuf-sur-Loire French nucleus farms to pig farms located in Shandong Province. This shipment was organized by the Shandong Husbandry Bureau.
Given the global concerns over the H1N1 flu outbreak, strict health monitoring and quarantine requirements of Chinese regulators, the successful delivery of this shipment is accredited to the compliance by France Hybrides to additional Chinese “flu” import and biosecurity protocols. The high health animals were already in quarantine in France when H1N1 closed the doors to pig breeding stock export opportunities around the world. To proceed with the export of the animals, France-Hybrides, exporter France AGRIMER, French government veterinarians and the French Embassy in China worked closely with Chinese officials to verify their H1N1 free status.
Upon arrival at the Chinese quarantine facility on May 28, 2009 the animals continued to be monitored and received clearance for delivery to their destination farms on July 12th.
Didier Goupil, France-Hybrides Manager credits the completion of the delivery to his team’s ability to verify health status and meet the requirements of Chinese authorities. “Our high health status, our quick response to additional testing requests and our adherence to strict biosecurity and health protocols allowed us to overcome challenges that other suppliers could not,” said Mr. Goupil. “We look forward to sending a second delivery later this year.”
Raf Beeren, Deputy Managing Director Hypor acknowledges that the successful delivery of breeding stock to China bodes well for future opportunities in Asian markets, in spite of the ongoing concern over H1N1 in this region.
