Quality EquipmentA free gauge to measure slat gaps is being offered to UK pig farmers by Suffolk-based equipment manufacturer, Quality Equipment, to help them comply with the EU welfare directive which came into effect on 1st January 2013.

Demonstrating the free gauge to measure slat gaps“Slats, particularly concrete ones, can become damaged or worn with age, particularly in heavily used areas,” commented Quality Equipment director, Graham Baker. “Farmers whose slats gaps exceed the apertures specified risk failing their farm assurance inspections.”
