The 26th edition of the IPVS (International Pig Veterinary Society) Congress will be held on June 21st to 24th, 2022 in the city of Rio de Janeiro. The event, which would take place in November this year, had its date extended due to the Covid-19 pandemic consequences around the world, announced the Organizing Committee of the event.
"The event's Biosecurity Committee analyzed the world scenario and decided that the safest decision would be changing the date of the world's most important congress of the swine industry," said the veterinarian Lia Coswig, the Biosecurity Director. The date change was agreed after meetings held with the main sponsors and the international Board of Directors of the entity, said the President of the IPVS, Fernanda Almeida. "We maintained the consensus in holding the IPVS congress in even years and the sponsors and members of the IPVS Board of Directors supported the postponement to 2022".
