The IPVS2020, the world's largest scientific event of the swine industry, scheduled for November 3rd – 6th 2020 in the city of Rio de Janeiro, will no longer be held on this date. Focusing on the health and well-being of all those involved in the event, the IPVS2020 Organizing Committee, together with its main sponsors and supporters, chose not to hold the event in 2020 due to the difficulties faced by the COVID-19 pandemic around the world. The president of the IPVS - International Pig Veterinary Society, Fernanda Almeida, stated that the measure emphasizes the concerns with the safety and health of people.

"The IPVS Congress is a great opportunity to expand the network among professionals of the swine industry and foster business. However, we believe that the most important issue at this moment is the protection of all participants, whether delegates, speakers, visitors, sponsors or employees. I am sure that the knowledge exchange will be crucial for the development of the modern swine industry in the post-pandemic scenario", said Fernanda Almeida.

Other information about the IPVS2020 can be obtained in the event's website, through the e-mail ipvs2020@ipvs2020.com or even by phone +55 31 3360 3663.
