Jyden Bur launches a new concept for the international pig production
At the time being, Jyden Bur offers Flat Pack for finisher housing but in the nearby future, the company will introduce the concepts for weaner units as well.
“The global financial crisis has a huge influence of the way we act in our business areas, and with that in mind we have made some adjustments to full fill our customer’s needs. That is the reason why we have added the Flat Pack concept to our product range – and with great success! We have already delivered 1.000 pens for a pig producer in Slovakia, and here the goal was to create a competitive product of high quality and functionality which would result in optimal conditions for the owner, the staff and the pig production itself”, says Sales Director Jesper Bech, Jyden Bur.
The Flat Pack concept is a standard product made as a DIY Kit. Cost is reduced to a minimum due to a simplified and optimized process flow in design, production and preassembly – and it includes a lower cost for the pig producers as well. The system is based on Jyden’s well known rigid fiberglass panels. The raw material, known from the aerospace and wind turbine industries, is processed to thin compact panels with extremely strong and durable material properties. The smooth surface makes cleaning an easy process and the bright fiberglass is also providing a good environment for both the staff and the pig herd.
With resources on development, Jyden Bur has created a unique design module, which will effectively lead the customer through the dimensioning of the housing project including the possibility to make comments for completing the design and layout of the project. As usual Jyden’s consultants will assist with ideas to make the housing project optimized for customized needs.
In regards to the packaging, the elements are inspected and packaged separately prior delivery. The Flat Pack concept reduces the transport impact on the environment. Compared with traditionally preassembled elements, each transport contains in average twice as much and compared with most other finisher plastic products the volume of the fiberglass panels is less than one third.
Basically, you will have to do the installation yourself, but actually Jyden Bur has made some good and simple instructions to help you to get started and to obtain correctly fitted elements. If the installation is of very complex character, Jyden Bur offers to assist with the installation.
“To point out the importance of production efficiency and of course the result, you will have to consider the cost and the quality. With the Flat Pack system we are able to deliver a product that will reduce the cost per finisher without compromising quality – and with a few changes in the process, our aim is to enhance the outcome for the pig producers. We are going to put some more focus on the export market, and I am definitely looking forward to present this system for pig producers in Romania as well as for the international market in general”, says Export Manager John Kongsgaard, Jyden Bur.
