An arrest has been made and charges laid against a former Maple Leaf Consumer Foods employee by the Guelph Police Service in regards to product tampering of several Schneider’s meat products. The tampered products were found at the No Frills Store located at 191 Silvercreek Parkway, Guelph on March 18, 2009. The individual charged had previously worked at the Company’s plant in Guelph for seven years. The police issued a media release on this matter last evening.

We are very pleased that the police investigation has resulted in a charge being laid. We also grateful to the cooperation extended by the police and the retailer throughout the investigation. As this is a legal matter before the courts we have no further comment.
