October 2012, on invitation of the MOA (Ministry of Agriculture of China) Minitube International has organized a two-day long seminar in the boar station Kexinyuan in Nanning, the capital of Guangxi Province, South China.
The seminar attracted the managers and technicians of many renowned boar husbandry companies primarily of south and middle China. The university and institute in Guangxi province sent their professors and students to attend it as well.
In line with the status quo of the swine industry in China, where the animal reproduction technique starts up relatively late but the potential of the development is surprisingly high, Mr. Rudolf Grossfeld, Minitube´s porcine expert and Mr. Marc Birkefeld, Minitube´s Area Sales Director have prepared diverse topics. The presentations from the semen production to the water quality control as well as the extender preparation gave the participants brand new perceptions of boar breeding and semen production. Meanwhile, Mr. Graham Reu, the manager of Sabor Breeding Center of Australia and guest lecturer invited by Minitube has interpreted the audience his hands-on experience of semen collection and the construction of the new boar stud.
To reach the interactive educational target Minitube International also showed its various equipment and tools for semen collection, insemination, filling and sterilization. The participants were very excited about testing the simulation of the collection with the AutoMate and filling semen tubes with the MiniBSP by themselves.
Minitube was pleased and proud to see the seminar has fulfilled the wishes of the participants even more than they expected. Similar seminars are planned to be held in the future in other areas of China.
