One recently graduated doctoral student will be awarded to present their research at the 2018 MSD Animal Health High Quality Pork Congresses in Asia, Europe and Americas.
“At MSD Animal Health, we are proud to invest in young scientists, and support ongoing research and innovation in the interest of swine health, production and welfare,” said Jan Nemec, Head of Swine, MSD Animal Health.
Eligible candidates must have completed doctoral (Ph.D.) research for an applied project in either veterinary or animal science with an emphasis on swine and defended their doctoral degree in the past 12 months. Topics of interest include antibiotic reduction, welfare, precision medicine, infectious diseases such as porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus (PRRSv), porcine circovirus (PCV), Lawsonia and Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae (M. Hyo), and reproductive management. Candidate needs to be available to travel and present their research in 1Q18 (Asia); 3Q18 (Americas); and 4Q18 (Europe). All trip expenses and an honorarium will be paid.
