On January 1st 2021, Nancy de Briyne will succeed Jan Vaarten whom, after having been FVE Executive Director for 17 years, will retire.
Nancy De Briyne graduated as a veterinarian from the University of Ghent and is a diplomate of the European College of Animal Welfare and Behavioural Medicine. She has worked in the FVE secretariat for over 20 years, representing the federation at numerous occasions and contributing to a wide range of dossiers.
FVE President, Rens van Dobbenburgh, is very pleased to have such experienced person as FVE’s new Executive Director: “Together with our new Executive Director, the FVE Board, staff and member organisations will make an excellent team to fullfill our mission: the enhancement of animal health, animal welfare and public health and the protection of the environment, by promoting the veterinary profession.”
Nancy De Briyne adds: “I am delighted and look forward to taking up my new role, and to continue the great work done by Jan Vaarten. As FVE Secretariat, we will continue to promote through a ‘One Health’ approach the important role veterinarians play in our societies contributing to the health and well-being of animals and people."
