Danisco gives new insights on the effects of direct fed microbials (DFMs) in animal production.

Key papers from Danisco Animal Nutrition at the 2010 Joint Annual Meeting, 11-15 July, Denver, Colorado, will be focusing on the use of direct fed microbials (DFMs) in animal production.

Data to be presented include effects of DFMs on rumen metabolism in dairy cows and benefits to piglets from their use in sow diets. For those looking for an excellent overview on the use of DFMs in animal feed, a paper will be presented on their strategic application in livestock production on Tuesday 13 July at 5pm.

Ellen Davis, Group Manager Research Swine, comments “The world is becoming more familiar with the advantages of probiotics. Their use in the animal feed industry opens up opportunities for economical safer food production.”
