Pig farmers are purchasing record quantities of Paneltim, the plastic building panel, reports Suffolk-based equipment company, G E Baker Ltd. The company, which also trades under the Quality Equipment name, has been distributing the product in the UK for 14 years.

“Over 14,000 sq metres of panels were sold last year, most of which went to pig farmers who used the panels in both new buildings and for refurbishment projects. We offer that bit more than just the panels, including advice in design, installation and DIY package,” commented Michael Mattmüller, Quality Equipment’s UK sales and export manager.

Due to their versatility, Paneltim panels are used for a variety of applications on pig farms, including pen divisions, walls, gates in farrowing pens and rearing and finishing houses. Quality Equipment supplies both standard and made-to-measure fittings and attachments.

The panels are popular because they are strong, hygienic and easy-to-clean. The Belgian manufacturer has recently invested in one of the largest injection-moulding machines in Europe at its Lichterveld headquarters to help meet increasing demand for the product.
