Perwolf, Austria's market leader in slurry injection systems and a specialist in soil-friendly slurry application, will present four innovations at EuroTier 2024 in Hannover (Hall 27, Stand B47). The company is focusing on cost-efficient alternatives to slurry tankers for dairy or pig farms, as well as for contractors and machinery cooperatives.

A major advantage of this system is the high spreading performance, with rates of up to 250 m³ per hour now possible, thanks to the elimination of transport and empty trips. The pump is placed at the farm's slurry silo, and the transport hose is rolled out from there. In the field or grassland, only a lightweight tractor is needed, equipped with a hose reel at the front and low-emission spreading technology at the rear.

EuroTier 2024 Innovations

Perwolf SLURRY JET 300: New High-Performance Pump System for Direct Slurry Application by Hose
The new SLURRY JET 300 high-performance pump system, being showcased as a novelty at EuroTier, allows direct slurry application from a farm slurry container or lagoon to the field over distances of up to four kilometers. The centrifugal pump offers a maximum pumping capacity of around 250 m³ per hour, depending on the slurry’s dry matter content. The pump and compressor are driven by a central shaft unit with maintenance-free high-performance belt drives and pneumatically operated clutch elements. The SLURRY JET 300 is particularly suited for contractors and large farms with consolidated land structures.

Perwolf EPTUM 1500: Trailing Shoe Spreader for Injection Systems
The new EPTUM 1500 trailing shoe spreader, designed specifically for slurry injection systems, will be featured at EuroTier. With a working width of 15 or 18 meters, the flexible trailing shoes made from EPDM are mounted 20 cm apart, ensuring optimal spreading behavior in combination with the slurry supply hose. The flexible shoes allow easy maneuvering, even around corners. Two cutting heads with section control and magnetically inductive flow control enable precise, site-specific slurry application. The operator controls everything from a screen that visualizes the trailing shoe boom. A unique kinematic system for headland and transport positions ensures a transport width of 3.0 meters and a height of less than 3.20 meters.

Perwolf KOMPAKT 900 and 1200: Trailing Hose Spreaders for Injection Systems
Another innovation is the KOMPAKT 900/1200 trailing hose spreader, designed for small to medium farms. It comes in working widths of 9.0 and 12.0 meters with a hose spacing of 20 cm and a transport width of 2.99 meters. Equipped with two cutting heads, each with 34 outlets for row distribution, the spreader's lightweight frame construction from high-strength steel reduces the overall weight. The KOMPAKT 1200 weighs less than 900 kg, making it ideal for use with light tractors and in poor soil conditions. Practical features such as hydraulically extendable boom segments, a hose coupling drawbar with an integrated swivel joint, inductive flow measurement, and a hydraulic plug ejection system simplify field operation compared to conventional spreaders.

Perwolf Field Edge Container: Mobile Injection System for Smaller Fields
To enable slurry injection on smaller fields and with external slurry supply chains, Perwolf presents a new container injection system at EuroTier, developed in cooperation with Bogdan Land- und Transporttechnik. The mobile field edge container has a capacity of 60 m³ of slurry and is equipped with a high-performance centrifugal pump (model SX 1000). Additionally, a screw compressor is integrated, which blows out the hoses after spreading. A hydraulic undercarriage facilitates easy placement of the container at the field edge. Flotation tires improve navigation on fields and unpaved roads, while practical loading solutions ensure high productivity of the entire spreading process.

Key Practical Benefits of Slurry Injection

Lower investment costs for starting slurry injection: According to Perwolf, one major advantage of slurry injection is significantly lower investment costs compared to purchasing a slurry tanker with low-emission spreading technology. Injection systems are available for smaller farms starting from €50,000. Perwolf also offers systems for contractors with an annual output of 80,000 m³ or more.

Optimizing short application windows: "This method provides a flexible and cost-effective solution, especially for farms looking to mechanize their own slurry application, allowing them to optimize short application windows while protecting the soil," explains Perwolf Managing Director Dr. Thomas Fössl. "Slurry can be applied in a timely manner, even under difficult weather conditions, to promote optimal plant growth."
