A major part of the discussion during this Agrobusiness forum at the Golden Autumn trade fair concerned the lack of knowledge and sound sources of information in the Russian agricultural sector, whereby a number of those present emphasised the importance of practical training for professionals in the branch. The Russian translations of the practical guides Cow Signals and Pig Signals are the perfect answer to this need for knowledge. The initial reactions to the Russian editions are very positive.
The Dutch business community is giving a firm signal of its desire to contribute to improving knowledge levels in the livestock husbandry sector in Russia. This is also underlined by the fact that the Livestock Expertise Centrum (www.lecrusland.com) and Difco/Van der Ploeg International (www.difco.nl) have published their own editions of the books for distribution among their Russian partners and customers.
Jan Hulsen from Vetvice (www.vetvice.com) is the author of Cow Signals and Pig Signals. Pig Signals was written in collaboration with Kees Scheepens. Both books have been published in many different languages in the meantime. Cow Signals is available in more than twenty languages, including Ukrainian and Polish. Pig Signals is available in more than ten languages, including Chinese.
These books are published by Roodbont Publishers in Zutphen. The Russian editions are available from www.nsh.ru or www.dairynews.ru (Cow Signals). Roodbont offers the business editions of these publications. For a complete listing of the publications on offer at Roodbont Publishers, visit www.roodbont.com.
