The number of exhibitors registered reflects the appeal of SPACE: as of 9 May 2017, 1,273 businesses have registered (1,262 in 2016, 1,257 in 2015 and 1,223 in 2014 at the same period). The 381 international exhibitors (347 in 2016 at the same date), from 37 countries reflect the importance of SPACE worldwide, resulting from our constant efforts to develop the Expo globally. The 141 new exhibitors, including 64 international exhibitors (53 in 2015) also attest to the appeal of our Expo at the global level.
The surface area requested by exhibitors amounts to 60,191 m². More requests for changes in terms of space and locations are being received this year than in previous years. Livestock equipment manufacturers are requesting larger exhibit spaces, which will change the configuration of Hall 2-3 where they are located. Hall 10A-10B will be dedicated to the poultry sector. Some suppliers of livestock buildings have decided to exhibit in this specialized hall this year.
There is also strong demand for space in Halls 1 and 11 dedicated to milking and cattle farming equipment, and we are doing our best to satisfy all requests. However, we will be unable to accommodate all potential exhibitors in Hall 1, with a shortfall of 350 m².
Overall, demand for space in the indoor halls is nearly 700 m² greater than last year at the same date. Demand for space outdoors is stable compared to 2016.
For the first time this year, the Embassy of Denmark is hosting a 90m² area for the joint participation of a number of Danish businesses. The United States Consulate in Rennes, the Embassy of the Netherlands and Enterprise Ireland will also be on hand to organise meetings with businesses from their respective countries.
