Because of the COVID-19 pandemic and the context of crisis it generates, the edition of SPACE 2020, which was scheduled for September 15 to 18, at the Parc-Expo in Rennes, will not be maintained.

The evolution of the situation, all the uncertainties related to it and the state of health emergency announced for a period of several months now, have led us, as SPACE officials, to take this decision more quickly than initially planned.

The sanitary provisions that we will most certainly have to continue to apply in September could not in fact be strictly implemented on the SPACE, due to the high concentration of people at the Show. Respect for physical distance would not have been possible or applicable on stands, queues, conference spaces, catering, receptions, etc.

The SPACE brings together more than 1,400 exhibitors every year, including a third of international visitors, and more than 100,000 visitors, including more than 14,000 from 120 different countries. This international participation is of course to date more than compromised due to the current and future restriction of all travel on a global level.

Participation in SPACE requires preparation and budgets to be committed several months in advance for its exhibitors, suppliers and partners. Given the magnitude of the current uncertainties, it therefore seemed essential to us not to make our entire community take too many financial risks.

SPACE is a meeting eagerly awaited by the agricultural world and contributes significantly to the dynamics of this essential sector for all citizens. The current development of all links in the food chain proves to everyone how much agriculture matters in our economy and the life of our territories.

The economic spinoffs from our Show are also major for our region. They were estimated at 91 million euros thanks to the calculator of UNIMEV (French Union of Trades of the event).

It is therefore in full awareness of the magnitude of all these issues, of the consequences for its participants and partners, but above all driven by the concern not to make all participants take uncontrollable risks that we took this decision not to maintain this 2020 edition.

We therefore give you an appointment for the next edition of SPACE, which will take place from 14 to 17 September 2021, at the Parc-Expo in Rennes.
