EAPHMWe are pleased to announce the launching of the new website www.EAPHM.org, the official website of the European Association of Porcine Health Management (EAPHM). The EAPHM was founded in May 2009 during the second European Symposium of Porcine Health Management. In the meantime, many necessary and time-consuming administrative issues (legal incorporation of the association, bank account affairs, etc.) have been completed, and we are currently preparing, together with the Porcine College, the next European Symposium of Porcine Health Management which will be held in Bruges (Belgium) on April 25-27 2012 (flyer see attachment).

With this e-mail, we would like to invite everyone who is professionally active in pig production (practice, research, diagnostics, education, industry, etc.) to become a member of the EAPHM. All information for membership registration can be found easily on the website (heading “apply for membership”): www.eaphm.org As soon as you have applied for membership (yearly subscription rate: 125 Euro) you will get:

- access to all the facilities of the website (with news, publications, etc.)

- a reduced registration fee for the yearly symposium

- the proceedings of the yearly symposium

To avoid paying membership twice, diplomates of the European College of Porcine Health Management become automatically member of the association, so they should not pay the fee for the EAPHM. They should however complete their registration data on the website. This will be possible within 2 weeks, after they have received a separate e-mail with the instructions.

We do hope to attract many members and to become a flourishing organization which can fulfill its mission to improve standards for pig health and production and to represent the interests of all pig veterinarians in Europe.
